Kent Libraries, Registration and Archives


When is it open?

Tuesday: 9am - 5pm
Thursday: 9am - 5pm
Friday: 9am - 5pm
Saturday: 10am - 2pm

Kent County Council libraries are about far more than books... although of course we have lots of books.   We are a wonderful FREE resource in the heart of your community offering:

  • Public wi fi

  • A4 B&W and colour printer

  • A4 B&W and colour photocopier

  • Scanner

  • Fax

  • DVDs

  • Audiobooks

  • books for all reading levels


Our library is fully accessible and available to all.  If you can't find what you want - just ask our staff for help!   Unfortunately there is no out-of-hours returns facility, but you can return borrowed items at any Kent County Council library. 

Groups hosted by the Library Service:

TUESDAYS - Friendship groups

  • Time to Talk and Sit & Knit Group.  11am to mid day.     Enjoy knitting?  Come along to our friendly group, meet new friends and enjoy a chat. Everyone is welcome; suitable for all ages and abilities.

  • Time to Talk.  2pm - 4pm  Come and join our weekly group where you can make friends and share activities over a cup of coffee.  Everyone is welcome.

FRIDAYS​ - Baby & Toddler Groups

  • Baby Rhyme Time.  11-11.30am Come and join our fun and noisy singing session at Showfields Library for children under 4 and their parents and carers.

  • ** NEW **  PLAYGROUND. 11-11.30am Spring & Summer an exciting new series of events and activities taking place during Library Rhyme Times in Spring and Summer 2019.  For all families with pre-school children. Everyone’s welcome and the sessions are FREE. With songs & rhymes, music, dance & art – it’ll be fun for the children (fun for grown-ups too!)
